Well, tried it for 5 minutes. Other than slipping off my knees or my butt, it did nothing. Tried all the positions with it, and either had to place my legs on stools or sit leaning forward. Then it kept pulling my legs apart once I got it to stay on and the moment I pulled my legs together it just slid off. Ya, does not work.
There was never a chair or a sofa that I was comfortable sitting in. I was always most comfortable laying down. Now I have a choice. I love sitting on the edge of a hard chair with BetterBack. I have structural damage to my back, with major damage to my L5 S1, spondylitis and spondolythesis as well as degenerative disc disease. am 70 years old and have for decades had a disc issue. It runs down my right leg and many times the pain is in the toe. I and my doctor have agreed to forego any surgery because normally I can stretch out of pain, use tiger palm and its patches, and ice. I ice after I exercise and I ice in bed at night. I have survived and I walk 3 miles or more 6 days a week normally. As long as I walk straight I am okay but I cannot walk and stop and start. I played basketball until I was 60 so I have had 2 broken ankles and have 2 knees that right now have meniscus ligament problems. In addition I am a bridge player who plays a lot on the computer so I sit a lot. That has caused a lot of stress to my back and periodically I get up to stretch. Anyway, I received the BetterBack and immediately in a chair my back felt great and the pain was alleviated. Clearly I still have pain but your device does straighten the spine and reduced the pain.

So the timing was great. I travel on airplanes every week for my work and decided to try my BetterBack along with portable TENS, assorted pillows and pain killers. I have to say I was really blown away by how well designed, simple to use, and effective your product is. The self contained case is great for a traveler. It is so easy to use! For the first time in forever I was able to sit on a plane without excruciating lower back pain! Since then I've tried to use it driving but that doesn't work out too well. I just received my BetterBack package in the mail and I couldn't wait to open it! I'm literally using it as we speak and it is wonderful. I cannot wait to bring it to work. Unbelievable product! I was very skeptical that there was anything out there to help my terrible posture and sway back. I got my Better Back in the mail today and after putting it on, I noticed the difference within the first few seconds. The quality (The design and how well it is made) of the product very much impressed me. I had an active sciatic pain down my leg when it arrived. I wore it for three days for only 15 minutes each time and the pain subsided. It now lives on my computer chair and whenever I sit down the first 15 minutes I wear the Better Back. Great Product. My husband also got one and committed to trying it out. He also was impressed by the quality. I back the first edition of BetterBack and have enjoyed it for quite some time. But while it was perfect for travel I felt I needed something bigger, so when this latest edition came to KS it was a no brainer to back it as well. Well it came in the mail this week and I must say the larger size does make sitting for extended period (longer than the recommended 15 minutes) very comfortable. I have yet to try out one of the therapy pads, but they seem very durable.
The infinite variety of my life gives me great joy - but is rough on the body! One day, I might spend over twelve hours at the piano; the next, im likely to be bending, lifting, hauling, and running. The product is made with better quality than I originally imagined. When using the product, I am very comfortable and it feels like I an improvement in posture. I haven't tried the heat/cooling pack yet. I won't know really if there is an improvement until further down the road, but I am confident after the first round of usage. I've used the product for 4 days now since that's how long I've had it. My only concern is that there was threading coming out of the top of the material and I am trying to be gentle so that in the future the zipper doesn't fall off etc. That wouldn't really change anything about how the product works, but it would ruin the storing convenience, (which by the way is very nice). I originally thought that using this product at work would be embarrassing, (but even though I do arrive before everybody else does) it's really not that noticeable if you are sitting at a desk. I give this product 4 stars. If I wasn't concerned with the threading, I would have given it 5.
just got it today, tried it tonight. Its' a bit cumbersome to first arrange. It seems to hurt my knees somewhat but I may not have adjusted it properly. Does seem to give my lower back some relief and stops the slouching somewhat. I will keep it and use it for the minimum 15 per day just to see if it does help my back without it! As per your advertisement. Another reason to keep it is, that I had to pay an extra $13.00 over and above the shipping/handling fee, so it'll probably cost me more to send it back.
I'm in IT and find that when I work from home I can be at my desk for an entire day sitting down with bad posture. I just received my better back and my lower back feels so much better and it has my posture more upright. I'm looking forward to seeing how this helps in the long run but so far so good!
Been using it for a couple of weeks. Is it a magic cure? Not for me. Does it relieve pain? YES!. Do I feel like my back is doing better than it was? YES!. I am psyched now that my Better Back Backerkit has arrived. I've used it for around an hour as of now and am really enjoying it. It was definitely worth it to get the version 2 BetterBack with the kneepads and heat/cold pack included. I haven't attempted to use the heat/cool option yet, however, I'm sure it will be a lovely addition. I'm still experimenting as to where on my back it should be placed to get the most significant benefit, however, I'm certain this will be great for me. I wish I had something to keep my shoulders in place as well, however, this is definitely a start.
I just ordered a Better Back for myself, and one for my brother. It is amazing! I am a very fit person, but am tall, and tend to have chronic lower back problems from exercise, playing pickle ball, golf, etc... I am 56 years old, and have always been active, but as of late, my back seems to get hurt more often than I'd like. Anyway, a friend had purchased one and recommended it to me, and Iafter putting it on for 5 minutes I was sold! Again, thank you for this invention - it's truly a "back saver!"
I was really impressed with the with the look and feel. Makes me think this was made to be used and will last you. I was also really impressed with the ability to fold inside itself for quick and easy transportation. The first use I was really enjoying it, I'm really looking forward to using the heat/cool insert. I originally bought BetterBack for sitting at my desk (which is amazing in itself). Then I discovered an AMAZING additional benefit! I try to meditate everyday and prefer to sit in lotus position on my yoga mat, but my legs and knees get sore and cramped after about 10 minutes so I need to prop pillows, cushions or yoga blocks under my knees to be comfortable, then I feel my back starting to slouch to compensate for the blankets under my knees. My meditation is often interrupted when I need to shift and move to keep getting comfortable. One morning I tried using my BetterBack while getting into position and WOW!!! I was instantly able to maintain my position in great comfort, my back fully supported, my knees supported and now I know longer need to drag all my pillows and blocks out! I am able to focus on my breathing without any discomfort for 30 minutes or longer. I never travel without my BetterBack! It's so well-made, durable, portable and really simple to setup, put on and remove! I throw it on my office chair when I'm done meditating and use it all the time while I work. My back issues have all but melted away and I often feel small "adjustments" in my spine while I'm working, like my vertebrae are stacking up more nicely and getting into alignment just by my improved posture. I was concerned that I might become dependent on BetterBack to keep me upright, but I actually find I'm way more inclined now to sit up straight when I'm anywhere without my BetterBack! I just opened my Better Back 10 minutes ago and can already tell that this is an amazing product (I'm also impressed with the design details and product build quality). Your product embodies that spirit of truly being able to spot a gaping whole in the market and really deliver affordable and true value. I've had terrible posture for years and have a lot of back and neck pain. It can be defeating at times when trying different things doesn't seem to work, and doctors don't really understand or can't help. I actually feel like the passive nature of using Better Back will make me more likely to use it habitually and to finally truly improve my posture and really move me along the road of back health.
Katherine Hi, As a disabled veteran (16yrs) in UK I just like to say thank you. As someone that for last 22+ years having been referred to as a human yo-yo, for my intolerance of being comfortable whilst sitting upright, I'm glad I saw this and purchased it why?? Because until you loose something so simple as the ability to sit for 1 minute of your life then you do not know what life is, the simple act to eat upright without pressure from different parts of your body yelling at you is a miracle. I wear a brace when outside to help me do things everyone takes for granted but it's not practical all the time. For me to sit upright I'm crushing pillows or cushions in my back to allow me the shortest time possible to rush my meal just to lay down or recline. That's been my life for last 22+ years and while I'm thankful I'm still walking its only time till I loose that so I see's this "ad", like many before, quick fixes to better postures and rolls my eyes. yes I did.. And moved on but I came back few hrs later an decided to read more and watched the video and concluded this was worth looking at so I looked at best place to get it and discovered its already in Amazon UK. I got it an WOW!! Firstly I was supported out the bag literally, within a few mins (once I got straps sorted) I'm not sold 💯 % but on my initial 10mins, I've sat upright I'm not bolting out my chair as spasms or electric shock forced me out of the chair but for once THANK YOU. I'm a chronic back sufferer with a disc implosion so I have constant bulge pressing on an near spinal cord so this support I'm getting is on L5/S1 and supporting my unstable backbone. Only time will tell if this continues to support me or cause me issues I'm unaware off but on initial use its been encouraging as a disabled chronic back sufferer its got my attention as a needed product for me personally. I hope in the coming weeks or month to be able to give a realistic definitive answer to something I've needed an no longer stuffing a pillow or putting my brace on just to keep upright. So for now, thank you Betterback.
OMG, I was able to sit pain-free the moment I had it on and adjusted! The comfortable, firm support is heavenly. It's difficult to slouch with it on (yay!) and I really like how it folds up into its own little carrying pouch. I had to learn not to pull it too tight. Pulling it extra tight felt great, but if I sat for a long time with it so tight it stressed my hip sockets and when I stood up it was uncomfortable for a few moments until my hips relaxed again. It supports just fine without pulling it so tight and my hips are fine if I ease up on the tension just a bit. Nothing else has been able to ease the pain in an instant the way the BetterBack does.

Ok product, did produce a nice feeling in the back but would have enjoyed taking it out of the package and being able to easily put it on as it requires a bit of set up. I'm not wearing it now as it's a bit cumbersome and feels a bit too orthopedic for everyday use, but I'm keeping it handy for days when my back may feel overworked
I bought this because of an ad on Facebook. I went to the website to get more information, but what is there is pretty limited. I like the Better Back a lot. It feels good to use it. I was sorry to see that it has a leather tag and pull, though. Why involve animal cruelty into a product that helps humans? The case would be just as nice without the leather on it. Thanks. I've had hip surgery and occasional flare-ups of sciatica. I don't have lower back pain. Nevertheless, this feels very good, and especially helps to get past the sciatica flare-up. I've always had *upper* back pain, which is not relieved, but it's still worth it. With the amount of pressure on the knees, it may not be good for knee arthritis.
Never used the website nor have I interacted with customer service until now. They have your back only works on my bare legs. It does not grip on any of my pants. This is unfortunate because I have to partially disrobe in order to use the product. When I use it it gives a great amount of relief however it is unfortunate that it cannot be worn over my clothing. I just received this Wednesday evening in the mail (less than a week from order to receive), so the jury is still out. However, I wore it yesterday for a total of about 4 hours. Normally, when I get up at work after sitting, I have a lot of back pain. After using this I had none. It's a little hard on the knees if worn too long, but it's easy to take a break. It hasn't eliminated my back pain "yet" but I definitely feel better after sitting for a while. I do wish it had a little more lumbar support. I'm going to try added a rolled up sock or something similar to apply that extra pressure.

i do not know if this qualifies as a worthy review because I literally have owned it about 25 minutes, 15 of which - have been in glorious relief OF PAIN! I am about >>> ehhh, let's don't say<<< pounds overweight (working on it) and I have not shared my back agony with anyone because it is very obvious why I would have back pain...but, this is ridiculous! I am sitting on a chair in my bedroom feeling perfectly aligned and supported! The relief of that twistie tight crampy muscular pain was instantaneous! After removing product from the FedEx outer shipping bag I removed product from an inner bag, unzipped it and in less than 5 minute absolute relief!

But the service was awesome and they resent one right away. 1,5 months later it's still not here and I sent an email saying that I was giving up. This really is a marvellous invention. I've being using it now for a month or two and its good - very good. Very comfortable to wear from the start (took me a while to get the hang of putting it correctly in place), and the benefit was immediate. Now, two months on I naturally tend to sit all the time with a much better posture. Correction - infinitely better posture. And my general health has gone up a notch or two as well. At first glance you may think its an ungainly device that could take a place in bondage wear. But it ain't (at least I don't think so). I have knobbly knees so I have to readjust the knee pads every ten minutes or so but that is very easy to do and takes a second or two. When knees are comfortable again the sitting position is so very, very comfortable and at ease. Hunching shoulders goes out the window immediately. Curving, healthy back posture arrives also immediately. I can't rate this item highly enough - really has transformed me.
I had abdominal surgery two years ago. The open procedure cut all my major abdominal muscles, and even as I healed, they were never as strong. That's when my back started to ache. This thing is awesome. I am programmer so my posture in a chair is terrible! Granted I also am pretty physically active. I workout 3 times a week, play flag football and going dancing. So my muscles are constantly getting fatigued by the poor posture when sitting in a chair all day. I wore this for 15 minutes and back pain went away. Also I am sitting up better in my chair and my back doesn't get so fatigued. Guess it really does line you back up. I love this BetterBack.

I had ordered BetterBack and the USPS left it at my door and it went missing. I tried tracking it down but It could not be found. BetterBacks customer service was great, they sent me a replacement right away I do a lot of photo retouching as a photographer. I have a standing desk but I still sit half the time. BetterBack is fantastic! I can’t believe how well it works. I feel myself sitting up straighter and with a lot less stress on my back. I couldn't be happier.
The Customer service is really nice and patiently. my BetterBack was delay 1 month by UPS,and no one know where is it. finally, the official resend another BetterBack to me and i received it about 19 days. so you can rest assured to order. I just got mine today and I've been wearing it for 1/2 hour. The minute I put it on, the ache in my back was relieved. I mean instantly. I ordered my Better back online after watching Shark Tank and seeing how it worked. I have suffered sciatica pain a couple of times over the last three years and will try anything that I think may help from having a recurrence. Each flair up has lasted from 6 to 8 months. I am basically using the better back when sitting at my sewing machine and feel that it helps me from leaning over my machine and sitting UP better. So far so good.

The residual effect of sitting so long every day with bad posture is that my shoulder slump and, coupled with looking down at personal electronic devices, by bed time my neck and shoulder ache making it difficult to get comfortable enough to sleep. I watched the Shark Tank show and ordered immediately. It arrived within a few days. I am wearing it right now. I makes my back feel great. I do have to use another velcro (luggage) strap to keep my knees together. I can't keep my knees close enough to use the clip but it works great!
Hello, I had ordered my Better Back on 7-23-16 & had not received it by 9-6-16, So I sent an email inquiring about WHEN to expect it. I got a response quickly and the matter has been resolved. It was sent 3 day priority USPS & I was thanked for my patience. I GOT MY BETTER BACK -- YAHOO!!!!!!! I have been trying to figure out the most comfortable position to wear it --getting better. I did have it too low on my back and the zipper side was hurting me. I just watched the video last night ---- VERY, VERY HELPFUL !! MUCH BETTER THAN THE PAPER INSTRUCTIONS !!!!!!!!!!! Also in the video it SHOWED HOW TO shorten the knee strap by just PULLING UP the adjustment on each side. I had been trying to manipulate it by pulling the strap manually & trying to shorten it that way. THE VIDEO SHOWED ME HOW TO DO IT --- SO EASILY !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm still trying to get the best position for me --- not there yet. Still hopeful!!! Thanks, Helen
Katherine, As a disabled veteran, I have suffered many pains for many years. Low and mid back pains from fractured vertebrae are some of the worst. For the last 15 years I have had a desk job that increasingly doesn't allow me much time to get up and move around. Pain medications coupled with muscle relaxers make focusing during work difficult, so I don't use them as often as I should. I have always known they weren't a cure, but the spinal curvature developed over many years of poor ergonomic positioning at my desk made things unbearable at times. I was introduced to your product by my love of the Shark Tank TV program. Realizing the special orders that had finally gone in for a standing desk and a kneeling chair were not going to come to fruition before my retirement, I decided to try your Better Back support device. I am no one that you could even pay to have me endorsement of a product I didn't approve of 100%. I have to tell you I have found your product to meet all hopes and expectations. It has made work comfortable without meds; it makes watching television at home something I can do sitting down again. I used to have to kneel on the floor when my back began to tighten and throb. If you design a way to make it functional while driving, you will have struck gold! My position at an Army hospital puts me in contact with many people Military-wide who not only can benefit from your device, but even medical providers who can study and then recommend it. Excellent product, quality build, and does exactly as advertised. It is somewhat limiting in the way it has to be worn, as even leaning forward defeats the back support. It definitely encourages improved posture. For long typing sessions at the computer this product is a huge help.
I have osteoporosis and my posture has gotten significantly worse as I have aged. When I saw BetterBack on SHark Tank I figured I had nothing to lose by trying it. I can honestly say after only 3 weeks I already feel the difference. This is the best purchase I have ever made. I work in front of the computer for more than 8 jours a day and have tried multiple straps and techniques to help relieve my shoulder and back pain. It definitely makes you sit straight. It's comfortable enough (correction always means a little discomfort), and it's better than other products that have tried to do similar things over the years. I've been using it for hours at a time, and it's fine. What I don't know is whether this really translates into a healthier back and better posture overall. For instance, I often lean back and put pressure on the straps. At that point I'm not using my own muscles to hold me in that position, I'm just using Better Back. Maybe the thing is do is to not move your body in a way that lets the straps really tighten. Also, I'd like to know what a PMR doctor thinks about this. When I saw a chiropractor in the video I just thought "goodness, they couldn't even find a single doctor that would give this a thumbs up." I'd much rather see a doctor with some reputation on the line endorsing this.
This was a total impulse buy for me and I couldn't be happier with it! I have had back pain for years and this really does make it feel instantly better the second you put it on. I use it all the time and though you do look a little ridiculous, it is so worth it because your back feels amazing! It's not a cure for the back pain but while I'm wearing it it is a huge improvement- would definitely recommend this to anyone!
Excellent product. I work from home and have to sit at my computer. I do get up every hour, but while I am sitting I find that this product definitely has helped me to be more aware of my posture and it also provided relief from the strain I was having on my lower back. Highly recommend!
Let me start off by telling you that I've struggled with bulging disc (L4/L5) for the past 25 years. The pain has been pretty bad at times and consequently, I've tried all sorts of tools and gadgets. Some work better than others and some were just plain stupid. Yet, I would still purchase them so that I can determine if they would help with my pain. I was also skeptical with the betterback product but like I said before, I'll try anything to get relief! As soon as I tried it out, I knew instantly that this was the real thing! I first purchased the Betterback for my husband David. He sits all day at the computer and has for 20 plus years and always complains about the cubicle world and back pain. When I received it I wanted to try it first to see how it worked and I LOVED IT! I was excited to see how he liked it. He tried it the same day and he also really liked how easy it was to use and how it felt on his back and helped his posture with very little work on his part. Takes a little while getting used to 'putting this on'. My chair is horrible and this definitely gives relief to my lower back. I have to laugh everytime I see it hanging over the back of another chair. It resembles a very small saddle with funny looking stirrups! Glad I saw it on Shark Tank and purchased it. I knew I had bad posture, but I didn't know how to fix it. When I saw BetterBack on Shark Tank, I knew I had to try it. I can instantly feel the difference in my back and shoulders when putting it on. It's great for both sitting with feet on the floor and cross legged too. My bedroom is small and has no room for a proper chair, so BetterBack does what no bed backrest can do and comfortably supports my back when sitting in bed to watch TV or meditate. It has so many more uses than what's promised, so I'm glad I have it and will continue to regularly use it.

No complaints except the discount wasn't applied as I requested. The one from SHARKTANK had expired, i was told. Another one was offered but I couldn't seem to access it. That was a little disappointing. Perhaps 10% doesn't seem like a lot of savings to some people but with healthcare premiums and prescriptions costs soaring, every savings help. The product itself is a good and effective one. High quality and portable. I've even taken it to the movie theatre!
I just received my Better Back and have been using it for about 15-20 minutes a day. I like the support it gives me. AT first, I couldn't get it to stop slipping off my knees, but I've since adjusted the fit and it feels fine. I hope it helps correct my poor posture with using it on a daily basis.

When I put the BetterBack on for the first time, my sciatic pain immediately diminished. After wearing for 15 minutes, I removed it. My lower back felt better but felt as if it didn't have enough support. After more 15-minute 'treatments,' that feeling of not-enough-support went away. Now, after only a few days, my sciatic pain is almost gone. Because I've had sciatic pain for two decades, I'll continue wearing BetterBack every day so I can improve and maintain proper posture. The better back device is great. I ordered one after watching Shark Tank. I was having a burning, searing pain in my shoulder if I sat at the computer too long for work. I used the better back daily and the shoulder pain has improved as well as my posture when sitting. This device is wonderful!!
I received my BetterBack product today after ordering it only 2 days ago. I was extremely impressed with the awesome packaging with a recyclable envelope…which is a great idea! I opened it, followed the very easy instructions, that were included. I unzipped the vase, expecting to remove the product, but it’s all self contained, which is perfect! I don’t have to worry about losing the case it came in. It’s constructed so well, that it should last a long time. It has automobile seat-belt type straps and strong quality clips. The knee pads are perfection. Comfortable, a good thickness in the padding and a good width. I am 75+ years and have had 3 major lower back surgeries, over the years. Osteoarthritis is not a stranger to my back. The minute I put this on, it relieved the pain that I normally suffer from, every day and I am sitting in correct posture. After a week of use (±6 hours on-and-off each day at work), my back pain has been significantly reduced and my posture is improving. My only real gripe would be that the knee pads don't feel great when worn, but its a small price to pay for the benefits it provides. Thank you, BetterBack!
I got the package today. It took me forever to adjust it. Every single detailed was twisted in an opposite direction. I had to open the site watch the video, then twist all locks in a different directions. However, once I put it right together I feel so comfortable then don't even want to leave my desk. I am spending at the computer desk at least 8-10 hours a day. So we will see, today is just first day.
BetterBack reminds me and supports me to sit straight. It has helped alleviate my lower back pain. But it doesn't solve the problem of head tilting (which a lot of people do nowadays tilting down to look at screens) so make sure your screen is at your eye level and elbow as close to 90degrees as possible to your keyboard so as to release your shoulders. BetterBack is sturdy and made of quality materials. I like how it's portable so I can use it anywhere in the house.
Today is the first day using BetterBack. While my back got tired from using it (muscles are completely weak), I felt so much better and less irritated. We purchased the BetterBack as I have been having many back issues throughout my pregnancy. I instantly felt relief on my sciatica. I just wish I had this two years ago while writing my dissertation! It's a quick and easy process to use. If you have horrible back issues, be patient because your muscles will get tired, but that's because they are not used to being in the proper upright position.
I have just received my BetterBack product today after an Amazon Prime purchase. Immediate impressions: clean, efficient packaging - recyclable - nice touch. Opening package: clean efficient instructions to go along with the product. The product: I grabbed it and thought it was a bag, it unzipped and was the actual product. I see strong proper construction where double seams should be, seat-belt type straps and heavy duty clips. The knee pads are perfect in width and thickness. As an engineer I though of something like this ten years ago when camping and playing around with a rifle sling. Now, after Military service and a desk job seated for 8-10 hrs in a lab, yes i do get up, I need something like this properly made and efficient for use. I have used BetterBack for a few days now, and I find it incredibly comfortable and easy to use. It converts any regular chair into and ergonomic dream. I often work out of coffee shops , and it has taken a toll on my posture. Now I will be bringing my better back with me; it is incredibly supportive and one of the best purchases I have ever made towards my health.
The BetterBack is wonderful. It offered immediate relief for me and it "forced" me into the proper seating posture. It takes some getting used to for long durations at the desk. I developed a cycle of sitting with it on then with it off and by the end of the day I didn't feel strained or fatigued in my lower back. I'm buying a second one for my home. As you guessed, the first one will stay in the office so that I don't have to transport it around.
Hi I got this yesterday and immediately put it on. Oh what a relief it was! I've had a spinal fusion, and 2 discectomies. I work as a Clinical Research Associate. I basically monitor early phase Oncology clinical trials for drug companies. This job involves a ton of sitting at a computer reading charts and verified data. I am sometimes sitting for 10-12 hrs a day. As a result I have one sore back at the end of a day. This was easy to put on and I felt so supported! Great product!!!! I have been working specifically on posture and movement for the last few years, and I have tried several products promoting posture. Better Back is one of the very few that truly delivers. I am 6'2" 190 pounds so the pressure around my waist took a couple times to get use to...it is worth it! It is very comfortable and you can tell your spine is in prefect alignment. My wife was not sure and did not try mine, so I purchased another one just for her. She recently tried it, and she loved it immediately! I would highly recommend!
I've had this product for a few months, now, and have used it to sit in front of my computer while working and during airplane travel. I have used it during 3-4 hour plane rides in the cramped economy seats and it really helps make it more comfortable with how it braces and supports me. It can be a little cumbersome, at first, to get all the straps straight within the cramped confines, but this is becoming easier. After about 3 or 4 hours, my knees do tend to hurt a little bit, but I might need to learn to loosen the straps. Its compact size makes it easy to travel with. I might suggest putting zippers on both ends to make it easier to close. I also notice that sometimes the piece that connects the straps between the legs does not always work well and one of the straps snaps out of it. This is a big part of how it helps with the bracing and support, so this can be annoying.
I didn't have a bad back but wanted to improve my posture while sitting in front of a computer etc. It has really helped me get strong in sitting posture. Now I am really aware when I am in good posture and when I am not so I know to straighten up. Thank you, I really appreciate this product.
I got my Better Back a few weeks ago but did not try it out right away. My back (which has had issues for years....) started hurting more than normal today so I got the Better Back out in desperation. Within 10 minutes of having it on, I started feeling better and when I took it off, the pain had diminished significantly 🙂 It is never going to heal my back issue but if it makes me more comfortable day to day, it is worth every penny. I may have to buy another one for work so I don't have to carry it to and fro. Thumbs up from me all the way from Australia !!
Hello, I am disappointed in the structure of the equipment because I wear a skirt to the office each day and the better back is not adequate for someone wearing a dress or skirt everyday. Unfortunately I have been unable to utilize this product. I would like a full refund.
This is a great tool. The first time I put it on I felt the muscles along my spine and neck start relaxing. It's great for the relief it provides while sitting but also for the training. Now when I'm in my car or somewhere I try to get into a position where my spine is stacked better which I got from using the BetterBack. Pretty cool.
I have a standing desk, but that hasn't relieved much of the back pain that I had been feeling. I didn't want to go to a doctor because I knew it was all on my sitting posture, and this is something that you need to sort it out by yourself and not with the help of pills. I also don't do any sports, so that doesn't help me either. BB is pretty cool! It adjusts well, the material is solid and it really eased out the pain that I had been feeling. I think it's a great product, because: - Easy to put - Easy to carry around (one of the best features, as it commutes with me between home and office) - Your knees support your back pretty well, even if you're using shorts (it's not that unconformable to wear without trousers) - You feel so light after using it! I use it in the office and at home when I'm sitting at my kitchen table while working or just watching something on my tablet Less positive (there's really nothing negative): - BB says that it should go as far up your waist as possible. I find this uncomfortable - After sometime it starts feeling uncomfortable on my knees - It should have some sort of 2nd clip to keep your legs together, but the clip that comes with it helps oh so much! The good that BB does to my back, outweighs by many orders of magnitude any of the lass positive points that I stated. I have it since three weeks, and I never had to annoying and constant during-the-day -and-after-working-day back pain. This is the real deal!
Although this product is made well and I was impressed at the way it is presented, it doesn't do much for me in the way of relief. I have been using it as directed and I find that if I don't get cramps in my Quad region, I get pain in my shoulders (when working on my laptop. I have Thoracic Outlet Syndrome and unfortunately for the BB, I have to use my Shoulders more than usual while wearing this at my (what once was) my favorite chair. Everytime I go onto the Oniegogo' site there is a new Gizmo for helping posture or back pain. I have since ordered the SpineGym at a substantially higher price than the BetterBack. I truly hope that it works better at helping me than this does. Sadly, this product sets up easily and is accessible wherever you go. It just isn't very comfortable on my upper legs and I find I am constantly adjusting it. Perhaps I should stop looking for a solution in these new gimmicks as it is costing me time, money and creates a bunch of dust collectors in my Home.
Well I have just started using this product. I ordered it mainly because a good friend told me how her back has improved to the point that she no longer needs the services of her chiropractor. I have found after using it for only two days while sitting at my computer that it certainly does correct your sitting posture and actually feels very good while you are using it. I have had many years of bad back pain so I am certainly hoping that my pain will subside due to the use of this product. You might want to give it a try.
I knew "Better Back" through “Kickstarter” due to its popularity. I ordered it just for curiosity. This product is well made and has a design with a lot of details. When I put it on, I felt more comfortable and relaxed immediately (amazing!). There is a pressure against my lower back and forces me to sit up straight. Right now, I am wearing it every day while working on my project. I’ve been ordering items online for years and this is the first time I wrote a review for a product I brought. Great product! I will order one more "Better Back" for my best friend who has a back problem and I will recommend it to all my friends.
I usually am skeptical of the contraptions my husband buys on the Internet...but this time, I decided to try Betterback as I do suffer from low back pain and as I am getting older, my posture is getting worse by the day. First, the packaging is neat and compact. The product is simple and does not need to be assembled. Just kidding! I adjusted the straps ...and voila! It works! My back feels better and I have the impression that I am standing straighter. I use Betterback every time I can. So far so good! Hopefully it is for real and not an impression I have. I will recommend it to a friend of mine who has back problem too. Keep up the good work!
The best benefit is that it taught me how to sit properly in any seat. For example on my last flight, I was squashed by my seat mate. I'm the size of an NFL linebacker and he made me look small. I started to feel shoulder pain from how I was sitting. But then I let my body go into the proper posture as it had been trained to do. And the pain went away. Just make sure to use it daily until your body forms the habit on its own.
1. Knee - I am wondering of the impact on using Betterback on the knees considering it is wrapped around them with "adjusted" pressure. 2. COD charge - I ordered BetterBack twice. Once off a crowdfunding site and there was no COD charge. I ordered one directly from your website and I got charge $20 on delivery! Almost 40% of the price!. Very disapointing and not sure why the different treatments.
I've been using BetterBack early in the day when I take my prayer/meditation time. The way it supports my back and strengthens the muscles carries on into the day, even after I'm no longer wearing it. I recently had hip replacement surgery, and the combination has me walking strong and tall!
My husband and I were concerned for our posture and have been using the betterback for that purpose. I find it is very helpful, as does he, and it makes me more aware when I am not wearing it as well, so that it functions as a kind of training device as well. My daughter tried mine and now she has ordered ne and told me she finds it very helpful for her back. I’ve been suffering with back pain for so long and I was paying a fortune for chiropractic treatment and prescriptions for painkillers. I bought this largely out of desperation for a different solution although I was sceptical of how much difference it would make. I feel so much better, it’s working beautifully. I was skeptical that this could help my posture, but it works instantly, and feels great. When I put it on, there is a nice pressure against my lower spine as I sit up straight. Besides the fact that it enables me to sit up straight, here are other things I like about the product 1. Very well made. I was concerned that I would break it by the force of my knees pushing against the straps, but the entire product is strong. Even the little clip that holds the two straps between the thighs together is made of very thick plastic. I really like the fact that it is made well. 2. There are two leather labels that say "up" sewn into the back pad. They are of a contrasting color, which lets me quickly see which side is up. 3. The device folds into itself and zips up so it is easily transportable. I have not used that feature yet, but it is clever. 4. Easy to loosen and tighten. Tightening is just pulling on the straps. The buckles have a nice big lip that let you easily loosen the straps, gradually. 5. The clip between the thighs is an excellent feature. Without this, you would be constantly trying to keep your legs from spreading apart, thus reducing the pressure on your back. 2.

Lower back pain, lots of sitting for work. Do have a standup desk (Varidesk) which helps some. Also had backjoy relief on my chair...but not using it anymore. Betterback is better by far for me. Besides really helping me sit better, and removing pain, it makes me move more too while sitting. Love it, thank you!
To anyone who is wondering if this works or not - it actually does!! I always slipped down in my chair so that half my body ended up under the desk. This completely stops that and ensures I stay upright. I've only had it for 2 days and I literally can't take it off!!! Sooooooo happy to have finally found something that actually solves the problem easily, effortlessly and comfortably. I've tried a lumbar seat support, back exercises, a back stretching floor device and even have an inversion table. All helped to some extent, but this one blows them all out of the water and is probably cheaper than any of them!! Get it!!!
I received this yesterday and have only worn it twice as yet. But it feels good and certainly stops me slouching. I use a saddle chair at my computer but even with this saddle chair helping me sit with better posture, I still can manage to slouch and am continually correcting my posture. With the Betterback on, I find I'm sitting upright, feeling very comfortable and think this will be my best friend at the computer.

I just got my BetterBack. I do like it BUT is the tag on the zipper leather? If yes, I am very disappointed. It didn't say it contained leather from what I can tell. Also, leather is completely unnecessary for this and of course a very cruel material. As a committed vegan I was very disappointed.

When I came under a deadline at work and started spending 12 - 14 hours a day on the computer I was having terrible back and shoulder pain. She suggested I try her BetterBack, and after minor strap adjustments, I loved it! It helps so much that we now have 3 of them. I keep one in my chair at work and we have two at home. They're so comfortable we even use them when "lounging" on the couch. I can definitely tell a difference in my posture and although I'm fairly lean, I can tell my stomach sticks out less than it used to.
BetterBack when put in the best position (in my case only works when I am sitting on a couch), however, this product does not improve posture or back pain but limits the amount of back pain depending on if it is used. For instance, before I could not go 30 mins in work without back pain however with BetterBack I can prolong this to only the time spent using it. Only limits pain, when in use. So there is that, but what I wished this product would be able to do is when I am using it to not shift up my kneecaps when I am using it. This causes a huge distraction for me, to adjust every now and then, especially when I need to focus on my work.
I've had back issues for awhile which greatly affected my posture to the point where it almost hurt to sit up straight. I would find myself wishing I had worn a back brace when I was younger, even though I'm only in my early 20s. I'd daydream about a quick fix to my posture and then along came the BetterBack. Does feel something when using - for pelvis and legs feeling more solid. Helpful, but not a rave. Do not feel difference in back long term. Complaint that was not addressed in my last review was - it is very hard to get it to fold up to be able to zip it back up into the case - too much to get to be flat and zipped.
After a single use, my back pain felt remarkably better. I have been using it regularly at work (10-15 minutes). My back has never felt better. I really recommend. The only tiny negative is that the zip has started to come away, because the straps and pads fill up the package a little too much
Severe back pains kept recurring in my upper back - actually put me in the ER. I'm a 1.5 month user as this reviw is written. I saw a better back on SharkTank and bought it. It’s well made, easy to carry, works in all different types of chairs and most certainly helps you to stay sitting up straight when the chair you choose does not. I’ll admit I have horrible lower back issues and when my back is not in a spasm I do use better back without hesitation. I do find it less than comfortable when I have the spasms but it is not the cause for this pain. Regardless, I do believe it has helped my core strength I was loosing due to me sitting any which way to gain comfort which was allowing my back to spasm more. So I’ll continue to use better back to gain better core strength by sitting up straight. Not sure how it will sah or if you can wash it at all but it's black so I'll give it about 6 months before I do.
I have had my Better Back for two weeks now and I'm lovin it! A sciatic nerve problem led me to the chiropractor and I received mine two weeks after treatment began. Headed to my chiropractor, showed it to him and he too, fell in love with it. You gotta get yourself one! Now....how about something for those of us who are constantly in the car!
Your tip was " Wear it 15 minutes a day " I haven't been consistent on wearing it every day. On days that I have worn it, I have usually worn it for 30 - 60 minutes at a time. Questions, is it important to make it a daily routine? Seriously is only 15 minutes a day enough? Is it not good that I have been wearing it 30 - 60 minutes at a time ? I have been wearing it sitting in my office chair the first thing in the morning. It definately pulls my back out of a slouching position into a much better straight upright position
One of my best finds on Kickstarter, glad I found it and got it for cheaper. It definitely helps with posture and in a convenient way too. Also the design is pretty slick; if you zip it up it really just looks like a small bag or something. As someone who basically spends 10+ hours a day slouching on my laptop it's very helpful for my posture.
After moving to Connecticut and transitioning from a subway to a train commute, I found it more difficult to get into a comfortable sleeping position during the ride. Sit up straight to support my lower back and my neck would hurt. Slouch down some to support my head and my lower back was unsupported. BetterBack solved this by allowing my lower back to be supported even without maintaining a fully erect posture in my seat. The only suggestion I have would be to come up with a smaller version for travel. It does fold up into a nice small package but its a little large when trying to get it set up or broken down on a crowded train with people on either side of you.
BetterBack I thank you for keeping me going. I have a herniated disc between 4 and 5. I see my orthopedist every six weeks for a shot in the back and that keeps me going. But at work I have to sit all day and there's nothing I can do about that. Sitting is the worst and even with a lumbar pillow it only helped me half of the time. Really ! It works. #1 ... Ingenious design ..compact #2 ...feels good the second I hook the straps over my knees #3 ...I get front leg pain... I sit and 'put on' my Better Back and my pain ceases... nothing else has EVER helped... except taking meds..which BTW I have ceased to need!!!
Let me preface this by stating that I was born with a hip defect that impacts my knees. Using BetterBack definitely helps relieve the tension that tends to come with keeping good posture. However, for me personally, it puts too much pressure on my knees. BetterBack essentially transfers the stress from the back muscles to the knees. And I suppose if you have strong knees, this should be fine. But sadly, mine hurt after using more than 15 minutes. Bummer.
In my line of work, I sit in front of the computer all day and from time to time, I strain my neck, shoulders and back causing pain depending on how I sit on the chair. A few weeks ago, my boss bought BetterBack and showed us how it worked. I thought I'd try it and I felt the difference almost immediately. I ordered a BetterBack for myself and I don't regret it. Hey. I use the product 1-3h a day on avg and like it. I play professionally poker and sit 10-12hours a day minimum. Its not that comfertable, not very uncomfertable either, but it's missing a few things for using it over a long period of time in my opinion. The kneepillows are not that good and the backpillow can maybe be bigger, or with some twists. What do you think about creating a verson for more professional users? if the product was better, I know tons of people who woud snap pay twice the price. its a great product dont get me wrong, just think there could be possible to create a better verson. Do yourself a favor and if you are plus size DO NOT ORDER this product. Not only do the straps not fit properly, the knee pads kill your knees. It is a struggle to get on and in position. Then forget trying to return the item. Not only do they charge for returns they also charge you a restocking fee. INEXCUSABLE. In addition to wait over 45 days for the product to be shipped.

I'm finding BetterBack is making a huge difference to my long-standing back problem - it gives immediate relief from pain if I use it when my back has started to ache, and it's also having a more long-term effect on my posture. I find I'm naturally tending to sit in a less slouched position, even when not using the device. A great product - simple to use and very effective.
I've never written a review before but this was worth it. I am at a desk all day. While I try to sit up straight as often as possible, I do end up slouching. My back gets achy and I end up putting my fist in my back just to relieve the pain and sit properly. I don't need to do this any more. This is one of those "why didn't I think of that" products. It's so simple yet so effective. My only downfall, and possibly it's user error, my knees end up getting a bit irritated after a while. So I tend to wear it for a while, then take it off, then put it on again. It's on my desk chair permanently!
I saw BetterBack on the SharkTank and it sounded like something that might help. It turned out to be just what I needed. I work a couple days a week at the office and a few days at the home office all sitting for 8 hours at a computer. I had back surgery just over a year ago (lower back) and still have a lot of pain. This gave me relief as soon as I put it on. I get up two or three times an hour but I just slide the straps off and on again over the knees. The trouble is worth the pain relief. The only thing I don't like is the clip in the middle. It doesn't hold together and I wish it would. I do like to sit with my legs together and with the straps tight, they pull apart and the clip doesn't work at all. It was a good idea but not sure why it is on there if it doesn't work. I will be ordering another one to keep at the office. It is very easy to zip up and take with me but due to the low cost I would rather keep one at home and one at the office. It really is a great product. I am really grateful. Others at work has tried it and even without having back problems they say that it feels better with the support. Wow, such a simple idea that gives me such pleasure. I just can't say enough. Wish I was the investor on this one. Truly a great product! Thank you!!
I was skeptical at first. Another gimmick! I've only had this for a week and am simply in love with it. Hard to totally describe the feeling when you put it on, but all I can say is that it instantly made me feel better. Almost like slipping into a very comfortable chair. So easy to slip on and off and hopefully, the more I wear this, the better my posture will become and sciatica relieved. More than pleased and worth every penny.

Even my son who is 14 yars old, wears it when he does his homework or play on the computer. It helps him to sit correctly instead of rounding his bag. I bought this praying it would work. I am five feet and my feet do not touch the floor unless I sit in a child's chair. I tried making adjustments with a block under my feet. still no good. I still need the support in my upper back. This does not support the upper back at all. I do not recommend this for a small person.
Started to test this out on Monday and I have to say it works. It just plain works and I recommend this to anyone who has had bad back, shoulder strain or neck strain because of bad posture. Before I started to use this, which can include just last week, I was always complaining and thinking of ways to change my work-at-home environment. I contemplated on a all-standing desk configuration and consider just buying a tall chair. I hesitated because that kind of change would take a lot of effort/reconfiguration or even a new desk (as I was thinking of purchasing the IKEA adjustable desk). I then ran into this option and decided that this item would be up to 20x cheaper than the adjustable office desk. This item straps around your waist and it really does keep your posture tight and correct. Since I have wore this BetterBack, I have not complained once about my shoulders or neck! I have sat longer at my desk than before but have consciously been able to make sure that I get up periodically to walk around. The reason why I walk around is only because I wanted to make sure there was not something "hidden" that would hurt later on. The answer has been that nothing else waist up has been in pain. It's not perfect so here are what I found out to be problems since wearing the BetterBack: 1. KNEES! The pads on this BetterBack is only OKAY, but I have pain on my knees because of how tight I wear the BetterBack. It feels like I have a bruise on my left knee, but to be honest, I rather feel pain in my knees than pain in my shoulders. I have been able to eliminate the knee pain though by wearing my own knee pads (I have many types for snowboarding, mountain biking and basketball), but it does make it really tight around the legs. 2. I try to keep it really tight on the waist so it occasionally hurts around the waist, but it's a quick pain when you release the BetterBack. Any pain immediately goes away. 3. Having to wear the straps and then get up to do something then come back to wear the straps again is a pain. Although, you just kind of get used to it after a while and work around it. I have the straps configured at the length that works for me and then slide them off if I need to get off the chair and then just take 10 seconds or so to slide the straps back around my back and knees. 3. The pads have a tendency to slip off the knees if not tightly secured. I only have beef with the knee pads that came with the BetterBack, but that's not really a big problem as it actually solves the REAL problem. It is also a resolvable problem. The real problem is the bad back and bad posture. This does help while you are sitting. I am not sure if it actually helps posture when you are walking, but I have not worn this gadget for more than a week so only time will tell. The fact that this almost instantly solved my strained shoulders and neck problems, I can do nothing but recommend this to anyone who suffers the same or similar problems that I had gone through for a LONG time since I started to work from home.
My Better Back just arrived, and I never dreamed it would provide such absolutely perfect comfort!! I am 70 and have had lower back pain for years, and when I happened to come across your Kickstarter page, I figured it was worth a try...but without really expecting miracles. Ha!! Miracles happen!! And the quality of materials and workmanship is superb. You are a genius, Katherine. You are proof that necessity is the mother of invention, so I guess sciatica can't be all bad!
I just received my better back and I must say, it is very comfortable and I was amazed at how upright I sit in my chair with this on! Time will tell if it helps my back, but my fingers are crossed. That said, I was disappointed with how cheaply the product is made. The all in one design is poorly crafted and I had trouble unzipping my better back to even open it up. Closing it back up was even more difficult! I have had the better back for one day and have struggled with the zipper each time I want to open and close the system. It's clear this zipper will be broken in no time, which is a shame. I would think that for a fraction of a cost more, the designer would have put on a sturdier and higher quality zipper. It's a real dissatisfier.
I got mine this week. Six weeks ago I had lower back surgery and I had my follow up appointment today so I took the better back to my surgeon and he liked it. He tried it on and said it definitely supported a better sitting position. Told me he thought it would help me maintain better sitting posture and took my sitting restrictions away. CONTEXT: I haven't written a product review since I was 7 (40+ years ago) when I wrote a letter to "Mr. Tropicana" thanking him for not putting pulp in my orange juice. So this is a really special occasion. MY STORY: I work two jobs: waiter and website maintenance. So I'm either on my feet carrying stuff all day or slouching at my computer. Yes, I have an ergonomic chair, but I slouch anyway because I'm usually very tired. After a busy day at the restaurant my body is in pain, especially my lower back on the right side. WHY DID I ORDER BETTERBACK?: I've seen EVERY episode of Shark Tank and Betterback is the first product I've bought (no matter how many times I've said "I gotta get THAT!!"). I wasn't expecting huge results, but I thought it might help a little bit. MY BETTERBACK EXPERIENCE: First day I wore it for about 15 minutes and when I took it off, I felt like I had just gotten a massage. The second day, I was working at my computer most of the day and wore it for a couple of hours. When I took it off I was sore. (That kind of sore you get after a deep-tissue massage when you were too stubborn to tell the masseuse that it hurts.) The next day I worked a double-shift at the restaurant and it was crazy busy. When I got home, I realized that for the first time EVER after a busy double-shift, MY BACK DID NOT HURT!!!! I wasn't sore, I still had energy and I did not feel like a decrepit 50-something. When I received my BetterBack, I was really impressed with how well it is made. The materials are top quality, and the design is very good also. But beyond that, IT WORKS. When I put it on, my back has that "AAAH..." feeling (it relaxes) and I know that my BetterBack is doing something good for my back. And, it really does help me sit up straighter. I have somewhat poor posture when I stand (meaning that it takes conscious effort on my part to stand straight and throw my shoulders back). I haven't been using my BetterBack long enough to see my posture improve, but I am very happy that I bought one, even for the benefits I have seen so far. My only (minor) complaint would be that it is not easy to get the BetterBack folded up and zipped into its carrying pouch. Maybe I just need more detailed instructions for how to do that, but in any case, it is not a big deal for me as my BetterBack just sits open on my chair at work all the time.
Just got my #BetterBack in the mail and wow! All the hours I spend sitting while grading papers and coming up with dynamic lesson plans has really put my posture and overall health in a painful spot. But after grading for just 1 hour while wearing this, I feel this might be the answer...no pain! Wish I had bought 2, one for home and one for work.
Although hopeful of this product's efficacy, I was somewhat skeptical that this would actually improve my back pain. At the very least, I hoped it would allow me to sit at the computer without the usual agony of sciatica. I had already done months and months of PE, massage and acupuncture with limited success. After using it for about a week, and sometimes not long at all, my back pain has actually improved! I also exercise regularly, but I was doing that already for many months due to my back pain, which has helped keep the worst pain at bay. However, coupled with the Better Back brace, my condition has noticeably improved. I stopped using it for a few days, and my back actually felt worse. I'm hoping that the Better Back brace will help me on my road to becoming pain-free.
I ordered this product 2/26/16 after seeing it on Shark Tank. I wish I could tell you how helpful the product was but I have not received it yet. I paid $10 for shipping and it was to arrive within 2-4 days. Still waiting... I emailed Better Back and asked to cancel my order but received a reply stating they couldn't since it had already shipped. I question the integrity of a company that cannot fulfill a commitment. Any type of communication letting me know that I wouldn't receive my product as stated would have gone a long way. Still waiting.....
I was very skeptical when i saw this product on shark tank. I did not think it made much sense nor was a good fit to get rid of back ache. I ordered it anyways, and it came to me within 7 days (just like promised). As soon as i put it on, i was amazed. My posture has drastically improved and i can feel my back health improving. I'm sure that this is a revolutionary product and i do recommend you to try it. It is better than spending all the money on physiotherapy and heat wraps.
I'm 67 years old. I have been stove up in my lower back for years, to the point it has been a real and painful effort just to put shoes or socks on in the mornings. Went to the chiropractor, he did xrays, and evaluations over 3 visits, then decided I needed to come 3 times a week, and spend $2,000 for a series of treatments. I was watching Shark Tank the evening Betterback was on. Before the show ended, I had ordered one. Received it 3 days ago, and it is an amazing device. I just love it. Standing up, I can bend over and place my palms flat on the floor. Pretty darn good for a stove up 230 lb 6' old guy. It hasn't reached the point where it "sticks" overnight, but it is still better the next morning, and think that with continued use it will continue to improve. Received my betterback in January, was using it for a month, and right now I don't have to wear it all the time since it has corrected my posture and forced a habit on me to always sit straight. I want to encourage everyone to purchase it or at least borrow one from friends, since I have 'graduated out' of using betterback, I'm going to lend mine to buddies who work in the office, in the hopes of convincing them to buy because I know this thing WORKS. Having to sit at a desk for many hours a day I am definitely noticing a positive difference since using my BetterBack. I received my Better Back a week ago (fast shipping to Canada!) and have been using it at my office while working at my desk and at computer. I normally wear it for 30 min at a time before removing and it feels very odd when I remove it! I love how supported I feel when wearing it. I typically slump my shoulders in and I love that my posture is improved after just a short time wearing Better Back. I can't wait to bring this on airplanes too!
I really like this this product - does what it's supposed to, and does it well. Much better than wearing a corset - no pressure on internal organs. I do have an improvement suggestion: since I only use it at one place, it'd be very nice to have some system to store the unused betterback at the chair back. Currently, I leave it hanging down, and the ends get in the way when standin up and sitting down, and they also get dirty from the floor. I'm not sure how exactly to fix this, but surely some fixture can be devised (velcro or something)...
Katherine! I am so thankful I purchased BetterBack. I am not sure I have had decent posture since the junior high days when I often slumped. I am 66 and spend a good deal of time at the computer with researching for books I write about my family stories. In the couple weeks since BetterBack arrived, I sometimes have worn BetterBack almost all day. Besides wearing it when sitting at the computer, I also like wearing BB when I am sitting on the couch embroidering. I find I am walking with better posture, as well as sitting correctly (without BB) because BetterBack gives me a sense of how I should correctly stand and sit—which I don't think I have ever had. I don't usually have pain, but my back has some scoliosis and my shoulders are rounded over, and I haven't been holding my neck correct. I have done exercises trying to correct how I hold my back/neck, but BetterBack did in a couple weeks what exercises (not that I did them as long or well as perhaps I should have) never did. I know BetterBack can't correct the scoliosis, but I am so excited at the changes in my posture. The videos are excellent and quite helpful. I learned about BetterBack from my 26 year old son. My only suggestion for an enhancement would be to include a slot for business cards - and about 50 info cards to start with - for distributing to people who ask about the BetterBack! As soon as I put it on when I sit down on the airplane, it is an immediate and obvious improvement in my posture and comfort, and my seat mates inevitably want to learn more. Thank you so much for making my business travel more comfortable!
I took a gamble and sponsored this project and I'm very glad I did. It's compact, simple and most important it's my back better. For example, I tweaked my back and as a result it was really angry and sore, but wearing Betterback for about 3hrs a day whilst working made the pain a lot easier and it corrected itself within 4days. No visits to an osteopath needed. My advise, just buy on and use it, because it works.
I don't know how to rate this yet because I don't know if maybe I'm doing something wrong. I've had bad posture my whole life and most chairs I sit on are uncomfortable because I have a boney butt so I slouch down and sit more on my lower back. Back pain has increased as I've gotten older and I jumped on this opportunity to maybe correct my posture before I end up with more serious problems. I got BB on Tuesday and started using it at work. At first, it was awkward and clumpy coming out of the pack, but soon figured out how the straps went. It didn't come with instructions so I didn't understand the center clip and what I noticed most of all was the cut off of circulation in my legs so I constantly fidget with the pad placement. My next issue is that I'm standing up and moving around every hour or so for different things and taking it off and draping it over the chair is awkward. When I return to sit, I reposition and it seems the over the thigh straps always twist inward and then I'm fumbling with that for a little bit. Then I'm constantly adjusting higher or lower trying to get the sweet spot. What I've noticed is it doesn't help in my shoulder or neck area and more pressure is being put on the areas above my lower back. The concept seems to be good for people who have had good posture, but technology has caused it to get worse, but for people like me who've had bad posture for 30+ years, it's hard to get comfortable with it. I've watched the positioning video 3 times and have been using the back tips to get this right, but even now as i'm wearing it, typing this, I feel pressure in my upper back and poor circulation in my legs at 90 degrees feet flat on the floor. Hopefully, my muscles will get used to it soon and this will cease, but I can only wear it in short periods at this current juncture.
I have been dealing with back pain for the last 6 years. As a person who works in the tech industry I am stuck in front of a computer most of the day. My back would hurt and spasm throughout the day. When I received my better back I started using it right away. The relief was almost immediate. I could work through the day worth much less pain. I have tried many different types of products and nothing compares to this. I have recommended this product to family and friends.
I was a little disappointed. I only used it at home and I don't sit for very long so it was rather cumbersome to use. I gave it to my daughter to use at her office job, but I think she'd rather have her stand up desk back. It takes to much effort to get situated in it when you don't sit for extended periods.
I received my BetterBack device last week and started to use it yesterday. The quality of the product is very good and it was fairly easy to set up. It takes a little time to get used to it, but after a few minutes you almost ignore it. I believe that it is helping my posture as I use my desktop computer. It seems to help prevent the pain that I would get when I tend to slouch over my computer. It would be very useful for people that sit on a bleacher seat with no back support. I await to see how it affects me after more prolonged use. So far, so good!
I loved the thing from the moment I put it on. (And i am basically stuck at my desk for at least 12 hours every day--it's stupid, it's brutal, but i love it.) I've enjoyed it since I received it and had a client over and was about to put it on and didn't want her to think...well, that i was suddenly going to clean windows or something...so I explained it and that I loved it and she literally gasped. I don't have the best posture, period, and she literally exclaimed, "My god your posture is amazing." It is? i asked, a little more shocked than, I guess, flattered. She says, "Oh my god, yes." So, in short, this thing is so damn amazing I completely forget about it when it's on and how well it works. It took someone else to make me realize it works so well my apparently Gollum-like posture morphs into ramrod-spined superhero of the keyboard. I hear the creator will be on Shark Tank soon. If those CEO EGOmaniacs don't give this genius a wad of IC I'll question everything they select from here on out. Word.
It is so simple to use and takes so very little time before you see results! For once I am able to sit at a dinner table without slouching back into my chair and the best part about it is that it happened without me even trying! My sister said "Look at your posture?" I didn't even realize that I was sitting up straight! Remarkable product and highly recommend.
Had my Better Back for a few days. Took it to a comedy gig tonight and wore it for around 80% of the evening. It completely put an end to my usual need to start shuffling around in my seat half way through the show. I left the theatre with a totally comfortable back, no strain, no pain. I'm looking forward to the cumulative effects of using this device. I won't hesitate to take it out with me again in future.
So far so good on this product. I've only been using it for about a week so I'm not sure yet if it's altering my over all posture like it claims. The first time I wore it for an extended period of time was Monday (it's Thursday at the moment) when I wore it for an hour or two at work, and I won't lie that it was difficult. My body just wasn't used to the points of pressure on my back or legs and I didn't know how to relax while wearing it. And sitting straight like you're supposed to felt just a bit agonizing. But I don't think any of that pain was because of BetterBack but because I wasn't used to it and I was being over ambitious by wearing it for longer than 15min. However a few days later I can say it's gotten easier to use and it really does provide excellent back support. I like that it folds up into itself and can be used no matter what chair you're sitting in (something limiting with other lumbar support pillows and things I've seen). The materials all seem very sturdy which is really important given how much stress it's taking. And after you figure out how it best fits you it's pretty easy to get on and off (though it does take a little practice and experimentation to get to that point). I have some lower back problems that have been flaring up recently so I knew there was a risk that if BetterBack wasn't as good as it claimed to be that it could throw out my back and make me bedridden for a few days. However I've been wearing it pretty much every day at my desk job for a couple hours and my back hasn't been acting up at all, so I take that as a good sign that my BetterBack isn't doing anything to make my back worse. I only have two complaints. First, I'm a very tall individual as well as a bit over weight and if my legs were any longer then the straps would not be long enough for this device to work for me. Luckily I have just enough strap to tighten it up, but I would say that if you're over 6ft tall and a bit on the bulky side you're taking a risk that this product will not accommodate you. I feel like this is something that could be fixed pretty easily by making a version with longer straps instead of having a One Size Fits Most, and who knows that might be something they do in the future. Second complaint is a pretty minor one and it might also stem from the fact I'm tall and portly. The clip that is supposed to pull your legs together is really difficult for me to use. It's just a slip clip and so there's nothing but the tension of the straps keeping it from unhooking. I find that every time I flex, fidget, or shift the clip slips off the straps with a lovely loud "THWAP" that makes my coworkers look at me wondering what I broke. I think this would be solved pretty easily by making the clip a little more secure, maybe with a snap, or a hook over the edge or something to keep the straps from slipping out of the clip. All in all, a minor annoyance that I'm sure I'll get used to dealing with quickly. But besides those very small concerns, I'm very pleased with this product and I sincerely hope that it helps with my back problems stemming from bad posture at a 40hr week desk job.
I just finished college & started my first "big girl" job. I realized during my first few months how torturous sitting for hours could be. At age 22, I was having back and wrist problems already. Determined to find a solution, but embarassed that I was having early back problems, I landed with a blow up vinyl donut cushion. It's blue and I placed it on my back so that I could sit up straight with my feet on the ground. It was very embarassing since the blow up vinyl donut cushions are used for something else (Google it). I had to hide it everytime I got up, even to go to the printer. At times I forgot to take it off and people noticed. Anyways I have a nice leather chair that does not allow me to use the attached chair brace. It's also very big so I can't reach the floors. I saw this item on Kickstarter and I immediately fell in love with the idea. Although it was considered a splurge for me, I know it would save me alot of problems in the long run and help me feel better. I have been using it everyday and I love it. I leave it on my chair and I'm never embarassed cause it's slick and stylish. I immediately made all my co-workers tried it and they always ask to borrow it. It is very comfortable and makes me feel like I can have control of the day. Crazy how sitting up straight can affect your mood and progress right? I LOVE IT. Great job Katherine!
Love, love, LOVE my BetterBack! I took a risk supporting the kickstarter campaign and am so happy it paid off. I have lower back injuries and the support the BetterBack gives me is the best. Even my shoulders roll into the right position when I have this thing on. After several months of just a few times a day, my posture has improved significantly. I can take it and wear it at work and at home, it's so easy to transport. The construction is so solid, I'm sure I will be able to continue to use for a long while. Highly recommend this product!
I love BetterBack. It took me a week of wearing it and adjusting to get the right fit, but once I found it, I never have to adjust it again. I try to wear it as often as possible, and it really does work. It pulls my lower back forward which keeps my shoulders and neck upright instead of hunched over. I have much less back pain. I sit in an office chair for 8+ hours per day, and I'm glad I found BetterBack!
My story might be very similar to yours: I sit most of my day. Commuting back and forth to and from work while sitting, working in the office all day while sitting, enjoying a nice evening at home, sitting. Most of our modern life is centered around sitting. Exercise might not always be the best answer, since it takes time and it might not improve on your sitting position or posture. I encountered the BetterBack Kickstarter Campaign and was intrigued by the promise and took part in the initial funding. I've been using my BetterBack now for a few months during many activities I do while sitting. During my office work, in the evening when I practise meditation or simply while watching TV - it helped me immensely to reduce and finally terminate my back pain and in consequence I feel a lot better. I first started with very small sessions for about 20 - 30 minutes a day and it changed the muscles in my back, so now my default position is sitting straight instead of "hunched" like before. And since it's hyper portable, you can carry it anywhere, which I love! I highly recommend BetterBack for people who are sitting a lot and thus suffer from back pain. When you put on BetterBack you will feel instant relief from your back, so give it shot :-)
Function wise this product truly is TRULY exceptional. I have literally tens of products that I have bought over the last couple of years, but this is the one I use every single day (almost all day) as it simply does the job.... protecting the lower back in a practical and naturally kinetic way. I still continue to buy other products, because well you never know there maybe something better, but right now I trust my quality of life to this single product- thank you BetterBack!!! Now for some (hopefully constructive) advisement: 1. whilst this product is robust and I have no worries it will stand the test of time, I do find that threads come loose regularly around the zip, this is more of a cosmetic rather than integrity issue. 2. It would be nice if the product was easier to compact within its self-containing case, I really have to stuff it in. 3. Some sort of inbuilt guide/markings would be useful a. to remember "settings" and b. to offer positional advice on trying to get the sweet spot. I was waiting something really great for my painful back and my betterback is taking the dust now. It's not easy to wear, not comfortable at all and the feeling on my back is not good after wearing it. I really tried to persist but no effect after weeks. I really wanted it to work but for me it's not working at all and i'm sorry about that.
I really do like my better back. It especially keeps me from backaches riding in the car and sitting in front of the computer for several hours. The two things that aren't quite so good is I cannot tell it has done anything to improve my general posture when I am not wearing it. Also, when on a long ride it can put too much pressure on my knees and I have to take a break from it.
I'm a true believer in Better Back! I was using a similar device, but it's been stored in the closet since I got my Better Back. My problem is sort of unusual. In spite of a perfect, ergonomically-correct computer set up, my short arms and legs (I'm only5'2") + a proportionately too-long torso mean my posture is always being strained. Instead of lower back pain, I get spasms in the mid and upper back quite frequently. But as long as I use my Better Back, NO pain! And the claims are true: with daily use of at least an hour, I notice that I tend to naturally WANT to sit up (and stand up) straight, with the proper gentle curve in the spine. It really does train you to have better posture overall. I'll be turning 60 soon, and it's so nice to have gotten my back BACK to its old self!
I had to get back surgery after injuring my back in the military. I have had two back surgeries, including a spinal fusion. I have bought special chairs and devices to help me have comfort when I sit. Some of which my company bought for me, others which I paid hundreds of dollars for. This is the only thing I use. It's also the cheapest. It's so simple I feel stupid for not inventing it myself. I write music and my back hurts after about 30 minutes. This has changed everything, and it feels very comfortable. I hope you do well on Shark Tank. Tell Mark Cuban that it has this veteran's approval.
My BetterBack arrived this week, just in time to try it out on my recovering back. About the time I found out about BetterBack through IndieGogo 6 weeks ago, I had learned of a ruptured L5/S1 disc and was beginning the process of rehab (steroid dose pack, spinal injections, PT,...) nothing was working and the decision was made to have a discectomy surgery due to the fact I could not longer walk and was bedridden. The really strange thing is, that I'm an 1 1/2 hour daily walker and practice yoga at least 4 times a week. What has been determined that is most detrimental to my back has been my posture while at a computer day in and day out, which ultimately lead to the herniated disc over time despite my exercise regmine. Fast forward to this week, I'm two weeks out from having back surgery and am able to get back on my computer. Using the BetterBack, even just 15 minutes a day, is really re-training my back to sit better at the computer. The results are amazing! Even when it's not on, I catch myself correcting my posture. My BetterBack is the first thing I put on before taking a sip of coffee and starting to work. I'm confident that I will never have another back surgery and my surgeon was impressed as well. I think this is a great product, but I am finding it very hard to keep it on due to Restless Leg Syndrome. Because the product forces you into the right position, it is very hard with you have antsy legs that constantly need to be moved in order to not feel pain. Just a heads up for anyone that has this issue, as you will not be able to really use this product to it's full potential.
Ok let’s be honest you may look a bit silly with the BetterBack strapped to your back, but to be honest does it really matter if you are improving your health? And that’s what this little contraption does. It improves your posture and thus it improves your health. I only use it at my office desk but that’s all that’s needed to be honest. And here is the weird thing - when you aren’t using the BetterBack say in a coffee shop (where I’m writing this review) it conditions you to actually sit up straight. It’s great.
As long as you appreciate that you need to strengthen your back as well as correcting your posture this is a brilliant little invention.. Don't be tempted to sit with it on for too long as it does put pressure on your knees but I do like the rest that this gives me when sat at my desk for too long..
I get much relief from BetterBack. I showed it to my doctors who really liked it but never saw or heard about it. I suffer from Scoliosis and am in terrible pain. The Better Back has me sitting like a string of pearls, up and straight that works wonders. I travel with it by zipping it up and taking it with me.
I've always struggled to maintain posture at my desk. The very well made and compact betterback helps more than I can describe in correcting this. Very happy with it, bought one for my wife and for my sister as well. I have less excuses than ever to take aubergine form at my desk!
That's the noise you make when you put it on. It feels lovely right away. The only reason I can't give this 5 stars is the practicality of getting up and down - if you're in a fairly mobile job like me then there's a bit of on off on off etc with it each time you get up. Time will tell if this has a permanent effect on my posture as it's still early days. However it's a very well made, quality product. I have confidence it's going to work for me already. Delivery time was incredible - only 24 hours to the UK!
It's a little early for me to give you a feedback. During the last two weeks i have put Better Back on during brief intervals while sitting at the computer. Its easy to put on and sit with while working on the computer, appreciating how it feels to relax into a supported upright position. Currently i try to sense how to position Better Back to the best of its potential for my physiology so it does not pull/slide on/below the knee and so i can stay with it comfortably. Its simple and well considered, made from good quality materials and i like it that i can easily take it with me while travelling. I look forward to seeing the longer term benefit of a more stable upright posture.
I like this product, for the most part. It's incredibly well made, and certainly does help my posture, but the knee pads slip off so easily. Is anyone else having this problem? I've reviewed the instructions, and have watched videos of it being used, and feel I'm doing this right.
After a few weeks of wearing BetterBack, my posture has improved a great deal. I often wear my BetterBack when I'm getting a bit tired at work. This helps me maintain my focus and keep my productivity up. Sitting and walking upright has a great effect on my mood and energy levels throughout the day. Also because having a better posture it is easier to make eye contact and i notice more people greeting me or starting conversations with me. In the beginning it was a little difficult adjusting the BetterBack, but I quickly got the hang of it. I'm thinking of buying a second one, so i don't have to keep carrying back and forth between my work and my home.
I took a solid week of mindfully utilizing this device. I was impressed with its construction (very solid) as well as with its ease of use. This is a product that works if you work it! When not in use, it stays on the chair (mine has arms) perfectly. No need to store it out of sight, which might result in forgetting about it. So after a full week of testing, I have already recommended this product to my clients and feel confident in vouching for its efficacy.
I have a lot of desk time whilst developing software and maintaining good posture quickly goes out the window as I focus more on my work than how I'm sat. The better back enables me to maintain a great posture, meaning my back isn't in discomfort by the end of the day. I'm certain that initially I'll wear it quite a bit to get my body to recognize the posture I'm meant to maintain, then will likely be able to reduce usage as my posture improves :) Great work guys!
I do really like it but I've only had a chance to use it 4 times so far because of some travel I had last week (and I forgot to pack it!). This is the most well thought out posture apparatus you will ever find. The craftsmanship of the device is incredible for the price. I sit at my desk all day and with BetterBack it is impossible to sit any other way than the correct posture it is meant to provide. I have been using for two weeks now and have already noticed improved posture even when I am not wearing it. So much better than the ergonomic chair I have spent hundreds for. I bought the BB to help with posture issues as I spend eight+ hours at a desk on a computer. Out of the box, I am able to wear it for more than 15 minutes at a go but have noticed that it puts pressure on my knees that adds minor pain when getting up and walking. It may just be "getting used to it" pain but it is worth knowing. Otherwise, I do think the BB makes sitting straight up easier though getting permanent benefits (sitting without the BB) seems a little iffy in my case.
This is one of those "I wish I'd thought of that!" moments. Really simple and effective idea that works beautifully. Attention to detail, packaging and the whole experience is superb. This thing will (deservedly) sell like hot cakes! Oh, and postage to the UK was effortless as well. Great job!
In the short time I have managed to use my BetterBack it seems to have helped (I only suffer with acute pain every once in a while usually after having been hunched over my computer writing my university assignments for several days in a row). I also think it trains you to sit up straighter after wearing it & you are more conscious of you posture afterwards. I have ordered a couple of extra BetterBackd for friends who suffer with back pain too.
I have a desk job where I am sitting at a computer most of the day. I've had back shoulder neck and jaw issues for years. BetterBack has started to correct my posture within hours and my back pain has started to slowly get better. I've also noticed that when I am not wearing my BetterBack my posture is noticeable better for a considerable amount of time and it's not a constant struggle to try to maintain better posture.
I've only been using it for about a week, for several hours per day. My back is tired, but I'm feeling the difference already. When I'm not wearing it, I noticed my posture and most importantly correct properly. Hopefully, I won't need it anymore after a few months. More testing needed.
I did buy a lumbar support for my expensive Herman Miller chair, it didn't do half as much as the BetterBack support. I started rowing at the gym and more recently signed up for a Pilates class. The BetterBack helps as a reminder to self correct while sitting behind the keyboard.
I've used the product for about 1 month now and it's great. So much so that i have ordered 2 more. One to give away to my son, a keyboard player, who spends hours playing with shifty posture. I keep one at home and one at work to fight off those long hours at the desk which leave my back feeling icky and takes the spring out of my step. At home, I mainly use it to sit on the floor Indian style while watching a movie or having quiet time. What i've noticed is that sitting with good posture using better back (which just about does it all for you) for 15 to 30minutes really reduces or avoids back pain. This is really noticeable once you first ratchet in and stack your back and get that deep relaxing feel and than after you get up and walk-about. I have a spring and lightness in my step -- not a slow stiffness after normal sitting for "too long". Using better back for extended periods of time takes some adjustment. I tend to gradually keep stacking my back by tightening the straps as S-shape in my posture deepens and/or my posture goes more erect. I credit this to the need for my back to get stronger in the "correct" position, allowing the dormant muscles to build. Now I actually feel my back lengthening and sitting upright on its on motivation after sitting Indian style for longer periods. product idea: I'd love to see an ultra lightweight and packable version of this that could be used backpacking or on long day hikes or at the sports stadium. Less bulk for those environments and a built-in foldout/pullout sitting cover that could optionally be inflated to provide a chambered air pad to sit on -- all in the thinnest strongest packable shell-like material :)). I hope this idea excites you Kathrine!
I've only had the BetterBack for a few days, but as soon as you put it on it forces you're back into the correct position. It does it comfortably too. Actually it feels like a relief when it does it. Even from just a few sessions with it I already feel like my back is starting to retain some muscle memory of the correct posture. The product itself folds up into a case (the outside of which is just the outside of the back support area, so there's no bag; it just folds up into itself). The straps are made of high quality seatbelt-like material so they're very sturdy and it has very comfortable kneepads that are attached and keep it nice and comfy around your knees. It's a very high quality product that pleasantly does exactly what it advertises. I haven't seen something else so simple and easy to help posture. I highly recommend it to anyone.
As far as I can tell, BetterBack exhibits high quality workmanship and materials. The back cushion is very comfy, as are the knee pads. The webbing straps seem to be attached to the back pad pretty strongly, so I don't expect the seams to wear out any time soon. Another highpoint is customer care. While I haven't had any reason so far to contact these guys for support or anything, I appreciated the small touches like getting an eMail with a short instruction video, or the "greeting card" (that only looks like it was hand-written, of course, but still, it gives the whole experience a personal touch) enclosed with the package. In general, it seems a lot of thought has gone into the details, down to the attractive packaging. Now, about the experience of putting on and wearing BetterBack (I've only had it for a couple of days now). The first time, I struggled a little bit with adjusting the straps and everything to my liking. As promised, the relief you feel wearing BetterBack for the first time is quite amazing. The first two days, after wearing BetterBack for an extended period, I began feeling a slightly uncomfortable sensation in my left hip. Don't know what it was, but its gone now. However, after wearing BetterBack for an hour or longer, I tend to feel uncomfortable. It forces you into a pretty rigid posture, and my upper back begins to feel tense. Sometimes, I also feel like I'm forcing myself into an exaggerated hollow back posture. In general, after a while, I begin to feel too restricted and start to move around to relief the (upper) back tension that has built up. So, I tend to wear BetterBack for not much longer than an hour or two at a time. When sitting somewhere (without having BetterBack with me), I have noticed that I often become aware of when I'm slouching, and consciously try to correct my posture. So that's a nice side-effect. Overall, after less than a week of using BetterBack, I cannot yet say whether my posture or back pain really has improved. I will continue to use it - probably more occasionally than regularly - though, and so far, I'm still quite happy with my purchase.
I used to always get up to either stretch or do other things because of how my back was feeling sitting at the desk working on my laptop. Now with this support, I look forward to work for long periods of time with great posture and NO PAIN! I'm getting another one for my girl who's at her work desk the majority of the time. Thank you!
After our yoga master showed us sacral support with a long strap, I found the BetterBack and had to try it. It is extremely comfortable and does wonders for improving posture. Amazing how the effects linger long after using it. Ordered another one for my brother with back problems.
After the first use of Better Back, I felt relief. I used it more than the recommended 15 minutes twice so far. It does make a difference sitting more to the front of your chair and putting both feet on the floor. It helps to straighten the lower back, or else you still have the habit of slouching and/or bending forward. I would highly recommend this to anyone with back problems whether you have had an operation or not. Thank you Better Back.
I have short legs and keeping the pads on my knees is very difficult because rarely do my feet touch the ground when I'm sitting. Even tight the knee pads slide off constantly and that is annoying. That said, it works as advertised and does relieve back pain while sitting.
I had some doubts little bit before BB arrived, but I was totally wrong! As soon as putting on it, I have to confess by saying "ah... ha..." like the others ;-) Just .. marvelous! So, I wrote a post on facebook. my friends show and ask something about BB. Many Korean guys (software programmer) show their big interests on BB. one thing, a guy sent me that we could buy Better Back only $20 even without delievery charging from AliExpress. But, I eventually figured out that it is fake. I think you should post some guide to customers to avoid fake BB. Thanks veeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrry much, this is awesome! ;-)
I just got my Betterback and I love it already. I started using it on my first day back from holiday vacation and cannot believe the results. For the first time in my life it's easy to sit up straight and carry that into my walk. I feel brighter, happier and more open. I also feel less tension on my knees and feet. I never would have though that at 25, I was putting too much tension on those areas! I feel relief and am looking forward to wearing it indefinitely / until I no longer need it full time. P.S. If you are worried about people noticing or commenting, so far no one at work as noticed!
I was having some issues with back pain and my hips and knees slipping out of joint, when walking. Started using this back brace and just do it for 15 minutes or longer, in the morning and the pain is gone, my hips and knees haven't dropped out on me, since. It really is comfortable to wear, when sitting at the desk. It does such a great job, I find that I am sitting straight up and not even leaning against the back of the office chair. It works that well. It also takes tremendous pressure off of my feet, when sitting for a long time. No more swelling or numbness, when I get up. Took me a while to figure how to put this contraption on, and I am still experimenting with the best position. It feels good while it's on. Haven't been using it long enough to see how it's impacting my posture, but the fact that you only wear it 15 minutes a day, makes it doable for me!
This thing is better than I expected. It has really relieved a lot of my lower back pain and I even feel like I'm an inch taller. It's easy to use, and the size will be perfect for traveling. I use it while checking emails, etc. so it really takes no extra time from the day to use. I look forward to getting home at the end of the day and realigning myself. It was some money very well spent and now it's something I don't ever want to go without. Kudos !!
My 16 year old son has Scoliosis (Curvature of the Spine) and Kyphosis which has got increasingly worse as he uses computers and his phone more and more. My posture is not good so I decided to buy both of us a Better back product...his was an extra Christmas present.It arrived just after Christmas as I went to celebrate New Year in Paris. When I returned his posture looked better!!! I asked WHY and he showed me his Better Back brace and how to use it.... I was blown away as he is so resistant to anything that might help his back. I have spent hundreds of pounds on Physio, Pilates, a Pillow which we will continue with BUT Luka loves this product and now my other son wants one and I have also recommended this to friends. My absolute favorite #kickstarter to date. Poor posture over a number of years has led to chronic neck, shoulder, and back pain. I've been in PT for the last six months after my body just had enough, but dysfunction is dysfunction and I've felt like the hours of PT, dry needling, massage therapy, yoga, etc. have been keeping me as stable as possible while I continuously un-do it all living my everyday life. Until now. Hello #getbetterback. The second I put it on, I felt my body both stabilize and immediately relax on its own. I was a Kickstarter backer and after noticing how well the BetterBack works on myself, I knew that I had to get my family to try it out. Over the holidays, I finally got the chance to get my sister to test it out seeing as how she's a full-fledged desk jockey. After trying it out, she immediately liked how it felt and wanted me to buy one for her. Unfortunately for her, I already got her birthday and Christmas presents for the year so she has to pay me back. She already intends to use it constantly whenever she's working.
My daughter bought me a 'better back' for Christmas and it's got to be the best gift for my back! I have always struggled with my posture and today at work I felt my posture improve tenfold with the 'better back'. I am confident this will help alleviate my chronic back pain. From a happy customer.
I was excited to learn of this device because I have noticed that my posture has been gradually getting worse and I am hopeful that this will start to resolve that. I've used it for 15 minutes each day and I do believe that I'm not rounding over as much as I had been.
I was able to sit on a really terrible seat quite comfortably for well over an hour thanks to my BetterBack. I could see using it as a stadium seat helper if I had to sit on the bleachers, and I'll be bringing it on an upcoming road trip to get some back relief while I'm in the passenger seat for many hours.
The BetterBack seems great so far. I definitely sit up straighter while using it. I've only had it for 2 days, so still making small adjustments to find the most comfortable position. It does seem to cause some tender pressure points on the knees and some spots on the back after prolonged use. Glad I purchased it and have already recommended it to others!
I have a desk job and I work 8 hours per day in front of my computer. At the end of the day I could feel the pain in my lower back because I wasn't sitting straight. With BetterBack I don't even need to think about sitting straight : once it's set up, it's impossible to sit wrong, it always gives you a nice posture. This is an excellent product. Immediately felt pressure release from my shoulders and neck I didn't even know was there when I first put it on. I spend almost all of my time working in front of a computer and could feel some lower back pain creep in due to long work days. Haven't had an inkling of cramping since. I like how many positions I can sit in and still obtain proper alignment. I made all my relatives try it at Thanksgiving and they all loved it. I even bought one for my brother-in-law for a Christmas gift. It is a bit difficult cramming all the straps into the case when zipping it up but I'm figuring out a system to make packing it easier.
I've suffered with sciatic pain on my right side for 5+ years. I found losing weight and regularly visiting a good physiotherapist provides the basis for fixing the problem but bad posture and sitting all day wasn't helping. I invested in BetterBack's original KickStarter campaign and have been very pleased since getting the product a few weeks ago. My general posture and awareness of posture is improved. I work from home so wear it regularly while sitting at my desk or at the dinner table. The product is adjustable and very comfortable, it actually guides you and supports you to engage your core better and be more conscious of when you are slouching or sitting poorly. My sciatic pains are less since I have had this product, which although I can contribute the decrease in pains to seeing a physio regularly and losing weight BetterBack is helping me improve my posture every day. I have shown it to a few people who tried it and immediately saw real value in the product.
I was very skeptical of Better Back but have had back pain for almost four years and thought what the heck, it's worth a try. After I put it on I literally yelled WOW. It felt so so sooooooo good on my back.. I wear it every single day now. When I put it on, my back pain is just gone. And I can even breathe so much better now, which might sound weird but is totally true. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I received my BetterBack today in the mail. It is better than I could have hoped for! Every detail in its design was so well thought out and it is very rugged. I cannot believe the support it provides. My husband chuckled at me opening it....until HE put it on and now he wants one! This is a phenomenal product for the price. I got my BetterBack this week and have used it each day. Highly impressed with its function and design. I highly recommend this for people who spend a lot of time sitting each day. Wow! I got mine today and wore it for a couple of hours. What a difference what a relief. I can't wear a wrap around belt for medical reasons, and they never gave the kind of support that i needed anyways.. I'm Thilled! I wish you every success in rolling this out to the public.. its huge!

This just works! idk what else to say. I originally got the standard version and while it still works fine, i felt i need to upgrade to the XL version(im 6"7') soooooo glad i did :D
